Woohoo! God is good!
I want to sing from the mountain tops or the highest hill in our area! I have sinned but now I am free! The Good and Gracious Lord loves me!
I know that I am not where I want to be or where God wants me to be. But I am so excited to not be where I was! Woohoo! I can change! It's a miracle! And I want to be even better! I want to be godly, to serve as Jesus does. To go the distance! To fight the good fight! Come with me on this journey!
"take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you." (Ephesians 4:22 Msg)
This is what God has wanted for us since time began. Along the way, we became twisted and distorted. But the Lord loving us so, sent His Son! Jesus was born a human. He lived with us, lived through all the same temptations, tribulations, and tragedies. The good and the bad. He lived for His Father and that was it.
He could have taken a short-cut, bi-passed all the misery of being brutally beaten, hung on a cross and crucified. But He didn't.
"The devil. . . .showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 'I will give it all to you,' he said, 'if you will kneel down and worship me.' 'Get out of here, Satan,' Jesus told him. 'For the Scriptures say, "You must worship the Lord your God and serve only Him"'"(Matthew 4:8-10). If Jesus had fallen for this trick, he would have sinned and lost everything.
God wants more from us. He knows we can do it. But because He gave us free will, we must decide.
We need to beware of "shortcuts" that take us even one step outside of God's will. We are warned: "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"(James 4:7). We can show this resistance by ignoring offers that are "too good to be true." And there are a lot of them. Lose 10 lbs in one week. Make money instantly! Be your own boss. Get the picture. There are really no quick fixes in life. The path of losing weight and being healthy, getting out of debt, making more money, quitting drugs and alcohol can be long and hard. But many have gone before us and have succeeded. Just look at Jesus!
Keep on keeping on! As we stay on this healthy path, taking one day at a time, one step at a time, we'll find the good things in life that God has intended for us!
Celebrate your success! Really! We've come a long way baby!
Lift yourself up today by reading the Word. By surrounding yourself with devotions that tell of the promises the Good Lord has made to us! Oh, it's wonderful to read and the meditate on the love the Lord has for us.
Then, go out and lift some one else up! Be that smiling person to some one who is having a terrible day. Be that door holder when some one has their hands full. Be compassionate to those who are struggling and give a hug. Give because you have been blessed. You have the ultimate gift. Knowing the love of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! Pass it on!
May the Good Lord Bless and keep you close! May your heart be filled with love. And may the strength of the Lord lead you through all temptations, all tribulations, and all tragedies today!
And smile! You're on God's camera!
I love you and God Bless~ Becca
